I woke up feeling disillusioned about the world around me. Disappointed from things out of my control. Vexed about the planet’s food issues and the raping of our wildlife. It was a shift in consciousness. Realizing my choice as a consumer affects everyone. What we have does not belong to you or me — it belongs to all of us. We continue practices every day that harms the ocean, the environment, and living beings. The destruction happens out of view, so we are prepared to look the other way. Change, it is possible and real. I believe because hope is something worth fighting for. I fight because, in the end, we all deserve to live in a world free of suffering and cruelty.
It’s about bringing salvation to the inflicted, the caged, the chained, and the abused. It is our responsibility to protect what we love. It is about our children and the world we are leaving them to. The right for all beings to share this earth. In peace. In freedom. To speak the truth, to show our leaders, why we stand and protect. The power of hope and persistence will set us free.
The sooner we widen our circle of compassion to embrace those who are different – including those with four legs, wings, and fins – the better off we will be. By exposing suffering and raising public awareness, we can change hearts and minds.
Captivated by untamed nature in all its grace and beauty, my love for the wild inflames me to inspire global awareness of the plight of endangered species. As a face of activism, I fear bearing witness to the extinction of these iconic species. Animal rights are pertinent in my everyday breath. When you live by example, you institute a level of respect and awareness.
